Our Headquarters for Ohiopyle Rafting is right across from the put-in to the Lower Yough. Our friendly Ohiopyle staff will outfit you with boats, paddles, and life jackets, as well as brief you on safety precautions for the challenging Lower Yough River. Guided trips feature our experienced guides and attention to detail. Bikers riding and touring the Ohiopyle Bike Trail are provided with well tuned bicycles and trail information. We make sure you get off on the right stroke so your day of fun will be enjoyable, and as safe as possible. We also have a well-stocked outfitter store selling bikes, whitewater kayaks, gear and clothing, and of course great souvenirs and t-shirts.
Guests looking for the truly awesome whitewater action can choose to tackle the world famous Upper Yough Whitewater Rafting (YOCK) River in nearby western Maryland. This 10-mile section of river features a middle canyon with 14 Class IV and 5 Class V rapids back to back. The Upper Youghiogheny is considered one of the best commercial whitewater rafting trips in the United States, and best of all we run on dam releases from Deep Creek Lake Hydro Power so rafting is guaranteed all summer. Self-bailing rafts have foot cups to help you try and stay in your seat. The Upper Yough trip starts with a few miles of flat water where your guide teaches you the teamwork skills and paddle commands. Then you have a one and one half mile of continous Class III water to sharpen your skills before you tackle the amazing central canyon that drops 115feet per mile (with one, one mile section dropping 185feet). All this whitewater action is located in beautiful and roadless MD Wild and Scenic River.
