About River and Trail Outfitters

River and Trail Outfitters is one of the oldest year-round outdoor adventure companies in the Mid-Atlantic region. We are licensed by the Department of Natural Resources and are members of America Outdoors and the Professional Paddlesports Association. After three decades, River and Trail remains a family-run operation built around an experienced staff, which offers a wide variety of adventure trips in Maryland, WVa, and Virginia. The area offers opportunities for paddling, fishing, and white-water raft trips. We offer guided and instructional white water rafting, tubing, kayaking, canoeing, climbing, biking, hiking, and cross-country skiing trips in the historic and scenic Harpers Ferry area. Our river trips and lessons take place on the Potomac and Shenandoah River as well as Antietam Creek. The world renowned Appalachian Trail and C and O Canal towpath provide hikers and bikers with an escape route into the woods.
